Description

Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, dates back to Pre-Hispanic and Spanish customs. The modern holiday is a synthesis of Aztec and Spanish traditions. 6th Street between Mesa and Centre Streets is filled with the sounds of traditional and contemporary Latin-American performers including Aztec dancers, Mariachi, Folklorico dancers, "Trio Ellas" and members of the Grammy Award winning Mariachi Divas!, and great food for all palates.

The Community Sacred Altar Exhibition and Competition of this event showcases a variety of perspectives within the Dia de los Muertos tradition.
